The town center of St. Helena in the northern end of the Napa Valley is something of an upscale boutique shopper’s destination. The gift shops are filled with imaginative idiosyncratic delights, tasteful in the way that an exquisite desert can be. After pursuing the shelves at Main Street Books, I usually make my way over to the Model Bakery for a light bite and and a hot cup of tea. Two more very popular attractions are Woodhouse Chocolates for, you know…chocolates and Gott’s Roadside which is described as an old-school drive-in with a modern American menu. Very popular. One note of caution, Highway 128 through the valley can be crowded on weekends, so week days are best if you can swing it.
